    Update on cancer

Hi This is Grannyjo's son, Craig. Mum's real name was Robyn. Mum loved her dogs and Jo was the first two letters of her last dog "Jorje"'s name. She kept her iPad logged in to this forum so perhaps she wanted me to let her online friends know when she was gone. She passed away a little over a...

    Update on cancer

I am bedridden now and am reliant on oxygenn day and night. I know I don't really have much longer, but because of that , my son and I have had the most honest discussions about our life as mother and son. We have shed some tears over errors and misunderstandings we've had and have grown...

Just Plain Awful Package Delivery Drivers

I've been very lucky with my deliveries. They knock on the door and if the parcel is especially heavy, they'll even carry it into the house for me.

    What are you doing today?

Felt rather well this morning, so decided I would take my car out for a little drive. Nup, didn't happen. I turned the key in the ignition and its just went click. Tried again and another click. Phoned our local Motoring Association, of which I am a member. Had to wait an hour before...

    Finally almost got a diagnosis

I'm doing OK - better than most of the medical professionals expected me to be. I am still able to function quite well, even though I do need help with more things these days. My help has been upgraded further and if I need it, I can have help for 9 - 12 hours per week. I have one lovely...

    Cataract op tomorrow

Everything has settle down nicely now. No need to use drops, and I can see quite well. Still thinking about having the other eye done. Maybe I won't need it if I can still pass the driver's licence test next year.

August 2020, Tell US about YOUR day...

It's coming up to Spring in Australia, so I decided to get a head start on my Spring cleaning. Took down the curtains in one bedroom and gave them a wash. It's a lovely sunny day, with a brisk breeze, so they'll dry well fairly quickly. I'll leave the rehanging of them until tomorrow.

    Did You Accomplish Anything Today?

Went to the local store and bought a small tempered glass top, aluminium leg table for my front verandah. Handy for having my cuppa sitting on while I relax in the sun. Bought 4 more balls of wool for the rug I am crocheting.

    Did You Accomplish Anything Today?

Managed to change a tap in the laundry. Then dragged a bale of mulch and a large bag of potting mix out of my car.

    Did You Accomplish Anything Today?

So far today, I've managed to pull my bed straight. Have my breakfast, shower and get dressed. Then I unloaded the dishwasher and put everything away. I've also managed to get through 2 sets of the physio exercises I was given on Thursday to help with the torn ligaments in my shoulder. Only...

    Cataract op tomorrow

I passed the test. I now have 9/12 distance vision. That's better than the 6/12 vision I had before the cataract operation. My close vision has not altered since last year and I don't need new glasses for reading or any other close work.

    Cataract op tomorrow

Tomorrow will be the big test. I go to the optometrist to see if my sight has improved enough to retain my driving licence. I was unfortunate enough to get "reactive contact dermatitis" from the drape that was plastered over my eye to hold it open during the surgery. Lots of various creams...

    Problems with medication

My doctor prescribed it for me once. Took it for a month, but had to stop because of the leg cramps it caused me. I looked it up and it seems that is a common side effect.

    Cataract op tomorrow

I was only very lightly sedated, and I was aware of everything that was going on. The most interesting part for me was seeing the cataract being removed. At first I saw fairly bright, fluorescent type colours. Then I saw the actual cataract being removed. I was a sort of a greyish colour...
