Two small salads and two small drinks came to 31.00 dollars.

Popular place to eat here on the central coast of Oregon... needless to say I'm not eating out much either.

When You Have Only A Short Time To Live

I'm thinking the answer to this question may depend on your experiences in life? My husband, 57 was diagnosed with melanoma and one year later at 58 passed away. So much happened within that short year as surgery, treatment and pain took over both our lives. I will always remember him as a "put...

    New Year Thread

Happy New Years from the central Pacific NW Coast... Sure has been an interesting year, hey? I'm pretty positive we aren't done with the craziness of 2020 but I'm hoping we can leave the fear and anger behind us in the coming new year! The tides here have been high where I live so walking the...

I hate health care plan selection season.

Interesting... I can only guess here but the doctor and hospital fees that are charged here in the NW are probably way above what medicare will pay for. Therefore in their minds there are too many other options to get their money.

    Halloween 2020

Halloween is my favorite holiday... I will miss the little kids this year. I live in a community that is mostly retirees and second homes. So this is for me... a reminder of that my sense of humor is not lost.

I hate health care plan selection season.

I know it didn't used to be this complicated... I remember when my mom retired, her choice was just signing up for medicare period. Good or bad, I agree the choices in the insurance market can be overwhelming to wade through. I recently moved to a small beach side community but in the same...

What are some favorite breakin up, It's over, Hit the door Jack songs?

Hit The Road Jack... Throttle, the Australian DJ from Melbourne has a new single. It is an upbeat throwback to a cliché that's been used many times but not quite like this. Back in it's heyday, the song won a grammy award for best R&B single thanks to Ray Charles.

    Make Me Laugh...

My daughter just bought Oracle cards... kind of like Tarot but different. She messaged me (her way of communicating) that she needed practice so did I want to ask a question... Well, I have many questions, you don't get to be my age and think you know everything. OK, so maybe a few do but I...

    Guns and suicide

I hope you are retired now and if you are that you can sleep better at night... My daughter works at a funeral home/body removal/cremation business and has experienced all aspects concerning death and families. I've heard her stories and it took her awhile to sleep through the night. It took me...

    Guns and suicide

There were 19,392 firearm-related suicides in the U.S. in 2010. In 2017, over half of the nation's 47,173 suicides involved a firearm. The U.S. Department of Justice reports that about 60% of all adult firearm deaths are by suicide, 61% more than deaths by homicide. Gun violence in the United...

What’s the hardest thing you have done?

Taking chances... only my age has taught me to be grateful for the bad and good that has happened.

    No Denying It Now...

I can look back at my mom and dad when they were 35 yrs old and I was 17 yrs old at the time. I can appreciate it now, how young they were at the time... 3 kids all before my mom turned 21. But having perspective now puts a whole new meaning to everything that happened as I was growing up!

    No Denying It Now...

I just over heard someone call 2 sixty year olds "an elderly couple"... There's no denying it now... it's all in your perspective!
