    New Hearing Aids really better?

I've bought all my aids from Costco. They did a test that was even a bit more comprehensive than the one I had from an audiologist. When they came in, the gal set them to the specs she had from the hearing test, and we walked around the store together. Oh my, the noise was something. I could...

Brigitte Bardot has died today age 91 years old

I always considered her a sex symbol. And she carried that off quite well. I was just finishing high school when she appeared on the scene, so I didn't need to know more about her than that. I knew nothing of her activism or her divisive comments later on.

Can you help me with this question re Ghosts

The load bearing integrity of a floor is is four times stronger than a wall. It requires nominal 2X10 inch joists, while a wall requires only 2X4 inch studs. In addition, floors require a minimum 1/2 inch plywood or oriented strand board plus a 5/8 inch underlayment of particle board, while...

I read that this morning. She did make a big splash, but I'm not sure I ever saw one of her movies. And then she fell off the radar.

    Handwritten school report card

Same here. Letters up through 8th grade, and numbers after that. The highest grade you could get was 95, passing was 60, I think.

What Was the Last Movie You Watched?

I do recall an intermissions in some longer films many years ago. We usually think of the Nazis and say, "Well that's in the past. That's not going to happen again." But every war, no matter how pointless, is somehow different than the last war, or so we think and must be fought. Yeah, Hitler...

Sometimes no matter how much we want people to sort themselves out

It's a near universal consensus by all alcoholics in recovery, that an alcoholic will not stop drinking even if he already recognizes that he is miserable. There is nothing anyone can do to help them until they come to that point where they are serious about stopping, and even then, quitting...

    Lack of continuity in movies.

There is an episode of Seinfeld, where Kramer buys a pair of training shoes to jump higher in Basketball. They look like some kind of specialized orthopedic shoes. He's in Jerry's apartment sitting on the couch and put's his feet up on the coffee table. The bottom of the shoes each have a very...

Wasn’t invited to the big fight.

Tyson started his career as a house of fire, probably fighting lesser boxers, I think. Buy the time he got to Holyfield he was coming up against tougher opponents. I've often wondered if he bit Holyfield while in a panicky realization that he wasn't as invincible as he thought, and he just lost...
