The problem with questions like this is that they are hard to answer. We decide to retire, because we are tired, exhausted and just plain flat hit the end of our rope. So we pull the plug. Set up the pension or payout. Take a deep breath. Sleep late for a few weeks, flap our wings, so to speak...
