Why is it a problem? Malaysia takes a copy of your thumb when you enter the country. So what? What are you doing that makes giving your fingerprint a problem? Doesn't your passport have a photo of your face? Why isn't that a problem?

Depends how you use them if they are just a word processor and spreadsheet then there are substitutes like LibreOffice but if you use more advanced features like VBA then you have to stick with Windows. M$ has no plans to support Linux it seems.

I'm with you, have tried various Linux varieties in the past too but there is always something missing, some program that doesn't work, some driver not available. Initially I tried it to extend the life of/speed up old computers but even that doesn't work anymore. Nice idea but not a fan...
