The Indian Pacific (Perth to Sydney) and the Ghan (Adelaide to Darwin) are not normal train trips they are luxury travel with premium fares it is cheaper to drive, staying at expensive roadhouses and using very expensive fuel - flying is the cheapest option.

I have no idea when it is delivered other than it is only every other day, so three times one week, twice the next. Most of my mail goes to my PO Box which is a block away and delivered daily. So I only check my home mailbox about once a week anyway.
