Multiple earthquakes around the Pacific coast in Los Angeles and near the Orca Islands

This is so scary for many of us, we've had 3 in the last few weeks and I hear that California had 7 in 24 hours last week I think. The world is being hit with wild fires, earthquakes, cyclones. I wonder if it was always like this the difference now being that as soon as there is an occurrence we know about it in real time.

I'm in Los Angeles. Small earthquakes are all but continuous here, and go almost unnoticed most of the time. "7 in 24 hours" includes only those large enough, say 4 on the Richter scale, to be felt at some distance. The one in North Hollywood last week, less than 5 miles north of us, felt more like a truck hitting the bumps in the pavement in front of our house than an earthquake.

So, while we are well prepared for some major shaking, and are ready to duck and cover at any moment, we don't worry about it at all.
