Heading to California tomorrow.

I’ll be there for two weeks! Two of my grands are graduating 12 days apart..Katey from college, and Savannah from high school!

Ron's not coming. 😢 We talked about it at great length, but he's just not far enough along in his recovery yet. A lot of walking, Nashville Airport and LA airport which are both ridiculous in terms of size and distance from check in and terminal. Plus the graduation locations (outdoors) require a lot of walking from where you park to the Arena football field area and no way to drop him off closer. He still has pain, and gets tired really easily and has to just shut down for a while. He’s still convalescing, (6 more months to full recovery according to ortho) and on the days that he's just off, he doesn't want to not be home where he's most comfortable and can fully relax.

I thought about going and coming back twice, but that's really cumbersome, plus Corey and Mayra and the grands are so excited I get to stay for so long!! Guess I’ll have a two week vacation!

I leave tomorrow at the crack of dawn, and head back on Father’s Day (mid June)

Congratulations! Have fun. Sorry Ron is not able to go. He can have "me" or "man" time or both! 😁

LAX is a city in its own right.

Once I had a flight leaving at midnight but if I wanted to be dropped off, it had to be at 7 p.m.

I was just wandering around and found myself in a deserted area. An employee on a golf cart pulled up and asked me why I was there.

I explained that I was just killing time and she said, "Well, if you want to kill time, jump in and ride around with me if you want.

I said I did indeed and spent a couple of hours tooling around the airport, getting into some areas I would have never seen otherwise (this was pre-9/11). It was an enjoyable experience and we had a good chat.

Two graduates! How wonderful Ronni ! May they be blessed with the best that life has to offer. Have an enjoyable time and safe travels always.

good fortune on your experiences.

Have a great time. I had to check if High school and college were the same as UK. We don't graduate from high school - called academy in Scotland, we just leave  , but there is usually a leavers 'prom'. After 'high school' there used to be a choice of 'Polytechnics' which offered diploma courses, and universities. Most polytechnics now have university status, and often offer more obscure courses.

Our elder daughter is now a university professor, so ends up as part of the presentation committee at graduations. I think she finds it exciting for the students, but a bit boring for the staff.

Thanks Capt!

Yeah, for each individual student who graduates, it’s a very unique and exciting time for them! They only graduate once! But for the staff it’s routine because it happens every year.

Here are the girls in question: Katey far left who’s graduating college then going to medical school. And then Savannah second from right who’s graduating high school.

I'm sure they will be thrilled to see you and have the opportunity to visit. Take lots of pics.
I have a grand graduating HS on Saturday. I'm looking forward to being there for her and sharing this milestone in her life.
They grow up so fast.
