June is a special time for me.

AI "The Women" by Kristin Hannah was the bestselling book of 2024 so far, selling over 800,000 copies in print by the start of June. As of March 28, 2024, it had sold over 1 million copies in seven weeks.

It's a year later and millions more have sold. That's over a lot of people who are now aware of the women nurses who served the military in Vietnam. Many of them suffered PTSD from all the horrific death and injuries they saw.

I thought of you as I read about the burn victims, Squatting Dog.

I visited one of my Marine buddies last summer in Arkansas. He seldom travels, but I try to visit him every 3 or so years. He has it really bad. He can’t even stand to watch fireworks. When I came home the sound of helicopters flying overhead bothered me. It took about five years to get past all of that.

This is something I think about. My brother did three tours in two deserts, and I worry about him at times.

He lives 4 states away, so I don't see him much, but I can tell when he gets 'different'.

I want to, but don't know how, to broach the subject with him.
Hey @Dave03,
I saw this and thought wow, I bet his brother would like to know that you worry... are concerned.
Also, that you'd like to be available to/for him, but don't know how to either broach the subject
or what he might need as far as advice or just an ear, or whatever?
Perhaps you've already let him know all these things... so forgive me for intruding.

I'd thought that I say something because that's what I'd like from my brothers... but I'd never bring it up myself
because this kinda' thing seems like a communicable disease or something to me (and I speak for myself alone).
Nope, I'd prefer not to burden others...
Just some thoughts.
