@RadishRose: I love potato pancakes - haven't had them in a very long while though. Was first introduced to Latkes by a roommate in the early 70s. Thought I'd died and gone to heaven.
I'm going to make a note on my calendar that the next time my older GC spend the night, I'll make latkes for them. Pretty sure they've never had them.

In San Francisco there was an Asian restaurant serving green onion pancakes with peanut butter sauce. The sauce was so delicious. It was zippy not too hot, lots of garlic and I think there were scallions in it too. I've never been able to recreate it but it was so delicious on those pancakes!

I love peanut sauce. So easy to make and leftovers freeze nicely.
