Computer tech: gotta love it!

Yes, you can run Linux "live" pretty much indefinitely, as long as you don't reboot or power down the computer. You can use the internet, access files on the computer's internal drives, do business as normal.

Thank you .
That is pretty much what I wanted to hear.
I just did not want to go through the Boot thing again.

These last few months, while Monterey is still good, it seems not to be coping well with the many changes we go through with other programs which are updated frequently.
I have 8gb USB which has 'stuff' on it and which I am currently investigating before I wipe clean.
Have to give the old eyes a rest ...seeing double, triple etc:LOL:🤣

@Nathan , Been looking at GNOME Linux via ManJaro. What is the downside of running gnome rather than Cinnamon, KDE, xfce,,,etc? Usually run manjaro cinnamon, started having install problems. I have a Dell 16GB memory AIO. Secure boot disabled. Need a change.
No downside to running Gnome that I can think of, I personally don't care for the Gnome 3 graphical user interface, I use MATE Desktop with EndeavourOS, which is a "cousin" of Manjaro.

I started with Mac computers in 1989. However, as I get older (and smarter) I tend to do less and less on them. I stopped looking at Facebook over 5 years ago. I am sick and tired of all the garbage out there that pretends to be news.

I am 79 and I love reading a good book, going for a walk or playing my guitar. You can all keep your AI and may it bring you untold happiness. (Fat Chance!)

I use Linux on my main computer. I have a second computer that came with Windows 10. I deleted Windows 10 and installed Windows 8, which still runs some old programs that Linux or even Windows 10 can't run. I use that computer approximately less than 1% of the time. It was a refurbished computer that cost me $80, so it's not part of a huge array of personal electronics. Just something I need once in a while.

Looking back, I could have installed Windows 8 on one computer and partitioned it to share with Linux, but I was afraid the no longer updated Windows 8 might get infected and transfer the intrusion to Linux, so I keep them separate.
