Do you watch free to air TV?

I grew up with AirTV just like millions of Americans and still use it.

I watch the regular programming on the three old networks ABC, CBS, and NBC along with a few Johnny come lately networks like Fox, CW, and PBS.

There are also several cable channels that show movies and a variety of old television series.

It has enough variety for me and you can’t beat the price. 😉🤭😂

I’m right there with you …. I would never pay to watch TV programs, when there is plenty to watch for free… all the major networks..
I get about 70-90 channels with an antenna, and watch maybe 5-6 at most.

Yes, I do. It's called Freeview UK. Freeview | All your favourite TV shows, all in one place and all for free

I like watching the American shows, NCIS, Law & Order etc. and there's a reasonable choice of UK TV shows too. Sufficient for me, anyway.

Many years ago when both my sons were still living at home, we had Sky TV. Once they left home, so did Sky and I've never subscribed to anything else since then.

I also fulfil the criteria whereby I don't pay for a TV Licence. Win win. :)

I admit, I've become spoiled by streaming without commercials --- so no, I don't want much Freeview type tv. My husband pays for his baseball, and still gets commercials - so sometimes I sit thru those.

I'm not big on watching TV. Other than catching the news, I could skip it. So, all I have is free broadcast ("over the air") TV, and I use a leaf antenna. I get about 30 or so channels, so there's always something I can watch. I won't pay for TV, streaming, etc. - none of that. If there's nothing on TV I want to watch at a particular time, I just put on a movie from my collection. I always keep several DVDs on hand I haven't yet watched.

How do you qualify for a free TV Licence?

You can get a free TV Licence if you, as the licence holder, are 75 years or older and you, or your partner living at the same address, receive Pension Credit. You can apply when you turn 74 and we'll adjust your payments automatically.

Apply for a free TV Licence.

How do you qualify for a reduced fee licence?

If none of the above apply to you, you will need to buy a TV Licence.

Individuals do not pay for any license in the United States to watch broadcast television. Today is my first time to learn of a license charge in the UK.
yes we know Americans don't pay for a TV licence..it's a huge pot of political crap, that the BBC and the govt are hand in hand with and people have been calling for it to be scrapped for many years....... we're not the only country however who charge to watch TV..

the difference is people are actually sent to prison here if they refuse to pay for a licence if they don't fall into the category of getting it for free.....I kid you not..

I have two rabbit ear TVs, a small one in the kitchen and a larger one in the living room. My bedroom TV is the only one with cable, and I watch or listen to that the most from another room sometimes.

On the air TVs, I watch the networks that you do, usually just catch the local news and weather. Weekends are not much more than infomercials or sports, which I have no interest in.
