I loved that show, and still watch an episode once in awhile. I'll guess that I saw all 170 episodes at least twice over the years.

It's always amazed me that they could do a complete story with many facets in 25 minutes. They all had a beginning, middle and ending-- much like 3 movement sonatas. One of my favorite recurring characters was the twisted Lt. Ben Scanlon (George Murdock) from Internal Affairs. And of course "Fish" (Abe Vigoda) was always good for a belly laugh. So many memorable characters!

I not only remember. I met him. I was dating a guy in 1989 that was performing in Man of La Mancha around North America. I traveled on business at the time so I joined him in Atlanta, Minneapolis, Chicago and Toronto.

I can't remember which city it was, but they were having a wrap party as the show was closing and he introduced me to Hal Linden. I also met Annette Cardona (RIP) who was Cha Cha from Grease. I felt like a celebrity! :ROFLMAO:

My first job directly out of high school at the age of 17, was with my cities police department. Among my many duties was delivering mail to all the departments. Let me just say that all of the department personnel, ie: burglary, vice, etc. were exactly like it was portrayed by Barnie Miller. Lots of laughter and commardarie. Some of my fondest memories. This was 1974.

Yes I was replying to you, only share what you are comfortable sharing.

Back to Barney Miller - loved it and thought its humor way before its time - they all played it so well - wish I had a set of them now - I suppose they are on sale heh?

Never heard of him - but I'll be happy if I'm here at 94 - moreso to be active and able like him!
