French police puncture migrant boats

Do you know there are many wealthy people in Mexico too? What happen there?

of course they can.. and they have the whole of Europe where they can make a living... what they can't do in any other country , is get free housing, and benefits.. and not be expected to work for it.. they are even getting higher rate benefits by claiming for disability... while the governement are paying large hotel chains mega bucks to house these people

Sounds similar to USA. If there is a way to game a country's benevolence that is what happens. Many don't want a hand up they want a handout. And in some cases they come with much worse intentions.

Re the OP: Is it just me? When I read the topic, I thought...what a terrible thing to do! Surely they can't be afraid that those immigrants will do to the U.K. what European immigrants did to the Native Americans.
 
I'm more concerned with the many who drive their cars watching the Cell phone screens stuck to the dash.
Never met a former Immigrant that wasn't a hard worker. Meanwhile today a Black granny was talking on her
phone to her granddaughter explaining to her that he will never work, not for a minute.
 
It is clear it is a problem in MANY countries (more then were even named in this thread). It is not a one country thing many places having to crack down on it and several countries are even paying for these Illegal migrants to leave.

While some people feel countries should just absorb people.
ALL countries should have the right to know who these people are and have a vetting process instead of people just arriving. The studies and talking points often conflate legal with illegal migration to lower the reality of criminal acts.

The US had people from all over the globe who flew in to Mexico to walk across the border because they said doing the paperwork and applications took too long and they knew walking in to claim asylum was faster and easier for them. They also may have know they would NOT pass the vetting process.
This is cutting in line of all those who want to immigrate legally and follow the rules (even if those processes are in need of an overhaul).

So many people are really unaware of the issues or look the other way.
The crime is real if people do not want to believe it until it hits them personally.

This was about France doing something non harmful to try to stop the flow of immigrants into the U K. But as threads go linking the same problem faced here in America. Your thought could work.

Let me clarify. That could work if mansions could house several hundred thousand each of the estimated 11 million 700 thousand illegal immigrants that have invaded America. And the

A problem I can see with that. A point that keeps coming up is cheap labor done by illegal immigrants. Not to many mansions near where that cheap labor would work.

So maybe a better solution would be the illegal immigrants that are not able to reside in a mansion could have all their needs taken care of by those that promote keeping illegal immigrants in America to provide that cheap labor. Of course the homeless should enjoy the same.

Puncturing boats at sea: While it may stop specific attempts, it's high-risk and unlikely to deter overall flows long term. Smugglers are organized, fast-moving and will adapt other means.
