Franklin Templeton is tough to get through to

When I call after hours (once a month) to get the value on my account, there's an automated router. It used to work okay, but for several months, when I call I get as far as giving the last 4 digits of my SSN, it goes back to the beginning of the automated message. I sent them an email and the reply was to call them during business hours. I did and I got a recorded message that the estimated wait time is 38 minutes!

I almost feel like closing my account with them.

I suppose I could try their website, but I don't trust my computer security.

Before you close your account make sure that you understand the possible tax implications of selling.

If you only own one or two funds you should be able to calculate the value by checking the share price online and multiplying by the number of shares that you own.

I use my brokerage online app and rarely need to contact them by phone or talk to a human.

I do admit that their robotic online assistant is a comical nightmare but I rarely use it, most things are pretty straightforward.

If you have a smart phone, Go to the App Store or Google Play and download the official Franklin Templeton app.
Use biometric login (fingerprint or face ID) if offered — this is secure and convenient.
Since mobile apps are designed for personal use, they’re less likely to glitch or get stuck like the automated phone system.

i dumped vanguard for poor customer service and bad policy.

when i call fidelity with a question, if the rep can’t help me , they take ownership of the problem .

they either put someone on with me who is the right person. , or have them call me back , or they call me back .

vanguard passed me around like a hot potato , finally passing me to a phone no one answered .

i called back and they did the same thing .

for fun i left the phone connected .

i got the please hold for next representative .. i finally hung up more than an hour later .

i figured out what i needed to know but what poor service.

plus their internal policies they pull are ridiculous
