For those of you seniors that are enduring, HOT sweaty weather, especially hot and humid, and would like to escape somewhere pleasantly cool, quiet, green, wet, and during mornings often a bit foggy, one of the best places to do so on this planet is Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park along the California North Coast that is part of Redwood National Park.

Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park

The Elk Prairie Campground is a particularly pleasant place to spend a restful, quiet week at and has upscale facilities. Plenty of short trails to enjoy as well as some longer ones. Always cool even in summer due to the adjacent Pacific Ocean. And yes, a many miles long black sand beach is pleasant to lay about on too. Sweet wild strawberries grow right on the beach sands too. May to mid June is the best time of year to also see its forest and seashore wildflowers. So a bit past that for peak but still very nicely green green green.

It's 23:18 local time as I write this.

I have all the windows wide open, and the door to the balcony too. It's 69F, but it feels much cooler after a day that as too hot.

At least 96f today in North East Ohio. I'm not venturing out there! Yesterday was almost as hot and I did grocery shopping all the while thinking it was almost too hot 🔥 to be out there. So today it's hotter and no going out for me. I'll stick inside where the temperature I set is 72. It's very comfortable in here!

An incredibly uncomfortable night. After another "splash and dash" rain in the early evening, it was even more humid. Temp in the house was 84F and humidity was 86%. Difficult to get to sleep and difficult to cool the house down when the nighttime temp doesn't get below 75F. Fans don't help much. It's only going to get worse this week with temps again soaring into the low to mid 90sF.

There are places people can go to "keep cool", but what would I do there? I also think they close at night.

Just think, in 5 months I'll be whining on how cold it is.
