Another cool night. With doors and windows all open, it got down to 3 degrees above where the heat turns on! To think a week ago it was sweltering. A virtually cloudless day. Predicted highs in the upper 70s, but low humidity, that will be pleasant for a change.

It is in the upper 60s which feels cool after last weeks blistering days of close to 100. I had an appointment 13 exits down the interstate and it was both raining and foggy. I am glad to be home safe. It is probably cool enough to make lentil soup tomorrow. So that is a plus.

It was the 5th warmest July on record at the current Albany airport climate reporting site, and tied for 8th warmest when considering records back to 1874. There were ten days with high temperatures of at least 90 degrees, and twelve days where the low temperature did not drop below 70 degrees.
