Good morning world, busy day ahead. I like busy. First though, I must share an anecdote from yesterday.
You remember that we had someone call from the agency about our house sale? Our caller was a charming young lady, at a guess, late twenties. She kindly helped us through the minefield of the questionaire at the end of which was the selling charges, the value added tax and a couple of other additions.
When I was the young lady's age I would have calculated all the arithmatic mentally, no problem. Nowadays the phone comes out. Calculator? Press a button, I still managed to beat her finger tapping though, placing a piece of paper upside down in front of her, the young lady came up with her calculation, then turned the screen to face us. "Turn that piece of paper over," my wife suggested. Our visitor hadn't seen it. Turning it over our calculations were an exact match. Impressed, she looked quizzically at my wife who simply said: "He likes to show off."
"Which way does the sun rise and set?" was her next question. Seeing our expressions her phone became a compass, north east in the morning and south west at the setting. Is there anything that phone can't do?
Talking to her, my wife found out the she had been together with her young fellow for eight years, to which my wife replied, "at your age I was married for eight years," she then added, "my Dad would not tolerate, try before you buy," that's living in sin!
Today, there's a few provisions that we need, and as I never do anything online such as shopping, it means I am off to the bank to pay a couple of bills. Yesterday I cooked
cottage pie with enough left for today's evening meal. It works out well as we don't have to prepare a meal, so we will be off out to a Tuesday dance night. Still not allowed on the ballroom floor, except maybe for a smoochy number, but getting out and engaging with friends is such a pleasure.
Sorry for rambling on, enjoy your day.
