How old were they when they got married deb ?.. could they have potentially have lived to have seen this anniversary ?

Dad was 29 (almost 30) and mom had just turned 21. Today, dad would have been 103 and mom 95, so highly unlikely.

Your parents were the exact same age as my parents when they married... 29 for father, just turned 21 for mother ...second marriage for my father tho'

Mom passed in 2006 at age 76 from long standing CHF.
Dad passed in 1983 at age 61 from metastasized renal carcinoma. I believe it was likely due to working at a paper mill where toxic chemicals were used in the manufacturing process. Back then there were no OSHA regulations about these things. Many local men that worked in the mill developed various cancers. OSHA came in in the early 1970s and instituted high safety regulations. The mill closed because to meet the new laws wouldn't have been cost effective. The town was never the same since. Almost all the men worked at the mill. It was demolished about 8 years ago.
