What do you carry in your pockets?

Besides a clean handkerchief, in my left pocket I always cary this knife. It was a complimentary item when I bought some work clothing about eight years ago at Mark's Workwear World. It has a logo on one side reading WindRiver, a brand of outdoor jackets, etc, and was in a tray at the checkout counter (whether you bought any product of WindRiver's or not).

It's a bit over 2-inches long, when folded, and has a stainless-steel blade. Holds a pretty decent edge, and I hone it every so often. It's handy for cutting cords, plastic packaging, opening envelopes, and so on.

(At times I need a heavier-duty general knife, so I have a Shrade folding knife that comes with a leather sheath that fits onto your belt. The Shrade holds an edge better than the similar, famous Buck folding knife.)

In my right pocket, I usually have a keychain (vehicle, house, mailbox keys), and some coins ($1, $2, 25c).

What do you often have in your pockets?

Just change and car keys in the front pockets, and wallet in the back pocket. I buy cheap sunglasses because when I take them off, I usually slip them into the front pocket, and I've lost track of how many times they get damaged that way.

When I wear a coat, it's like Batman's utility coat.
I usually have nuts and bolts, screwdriver, maybe a wrench, ferro rod, small container of char cloth and a lot of other things.
I was in the ER a couple years ago and the nurses were bagging stuff from my pockets before they transported me.
Both of them were having a good laugh at how much stuff I carried. :D
 
When Iā€™m out walking outside I have a cell phone in my pocket for taking pictures. I have a tissue in the other pocket. While Iā€™m at home I donā€™t have anything in my pockets.
My husband carries all the keys, a pocket knife and while we are walking, ā€˜pooā€™ bags for the dogs.

My philosophy is to carry as little as possible in my pockets -- I donā€™t like being weighed down.

If Iā€™m out, itā€™s just my house keys, car keys, debit card, some cash (notes only, no wallet), and my phone. No driverā€™s licence or other ID. In the UK you donā€™t need to prove who you are, unless youā€™re driving.

If I am driving and Iā€™m stopped by the police, they might ask for my driving licence, insurance and ownership documents. I then have 7 days to show them. I can take those documents to my local police station later, in passing.

Itā€™s not really a principle with me, just a preference -- since I donā€™t need ID in the UK, Iā€™d rather not carry it around. I don't seem to have much use for it.

That covers everything I need in the UK.

I don't take my handbag into stores; therefore, everything I need is in my pockets. Cash, a credit card, keys, and a tissue are all I need. I leave the cannoli at home. :cool:
