Forcing myself to socialize

That sounds like it'd be perfect for me too. On the other hand, a place like that sounds like the basement of hell to my husband so here we stay.
Same here and anyways, we probably could not afford it. So we're in in a condo (28 suites) where no one really relates to anyone. In fact, I find it's worse now. We are the oldest owners in the building and have lived here for over 25 years. In all that time, there has been no one to make friends with in our building. Everyone does their own thing and even sometimes, I have even been snubbed when I have said Hi to someone in the building.

It's comments like these that remind me to be thankful that I live alone. Don't have to run any of my decisions by anyone for acceptance or approval. 😌 @LoveTulips I hope you make lots of friends and have ever-increasing exciting times. Maybe your husband will notice, be inspired or curious and venture out there too.
I don't have to run any decisions by my husband for his approval. He thinks fine, if you want to go out and do stuff with other people, that's cool. I think most elderly guys are happy staying at home (if their wife is still around), and just watch sports on the telly, do gardening, crosswords, etc. My hubby is 76 years old. I'm 70.

There are a lot of places like that around here too. In fact, there's one (and only one) mobile home park here that according to some people I know who live there has a really friendly atmosphere (especially for around here); welp, that place got a negative review on a mobile home park site for being "too nosy because someone's always saying 'good morning', I can't stand that" they said. I guess some people just can't stand other people, sad.

I wish my huzz was like that; he's only happy when he's on the golf course or behind the wheel of the car with his foot in the carburetor. I worry so much about what we're going to do when he no longer can (or should) drive. That's one reason I'd like to move somewhere within walking distance of at least a grocery store but he says he doesn't want to walk anywhere other than in a park because he had to walk everywhere when he was a poor kid and teenager and never again.
