I made my handkerchiefs

Staples? Hmm 🤨 You can get a product called stitch witchery at amazon, crafts shops and also walmarts. Its a tape that comes in a thin strip on a roll that you can easily tear off. You make a fold, then iron that in place, on all 4 sides of unhemmed hanky and then slip the stitch witchery in the fold and iron it down. It wont come apart in the wash.
"Dritz Stitch Witchery is a fusible bonding web that is used to bond fabric pieces together. This handy item is great for quick fixes and easy no-sew projects. Use for hems, trims, belts and many other regular weight items."
Yep, that is a better option than staples, as it fabric glue.

But really, all that fuss when you can get them ready made for not a lot of money?!?!

For the first time, I bought some cotton fabric, cut and shaped it and stapled the edges. (I can't sew).
I am tired of the white handkerchiefs. I use them everyday, much better than tissues.
Cool. I make my own, too. Cheaper than ready-made and way cheaper than boxes of tissues. Plus, it gives me something to do.

But, yeah, if you're not into hemming the edges, washable fabric glue is pretty cheap, too (abt $4). But you want to make an 1/8th-inch fold along the edge, then apply the glue and fold it again..over the glue.

Recently, it crossed my mind that I could have fun making a few hankies for old-time's sake. I am reminded of handkerchiefs through the Victorian novels that I read. When I was growing up, there were cute little white hankies embroidered with the days of the week. If I make some, I would bind them with my sewing machine or use fabric glue. I might even embroider the days of the week but alphas are not that easy to embroider. I'm sure I'd use the simple font stitch on my machine and just change out the thread colors for each day.

Thanks for suggestions. I attached bonding tape to the edges of these light blue hankies and made them sturdy to last longer. No more little staples. These are unlike any handkerchiefs sold because the cotton is stronger. I need a technique for pant hems or else I see a tailor.
Went to Walmart once and sales girl did not know what a hem is! I do like my scissors.
