All Yankees, who were born to love snow. I lived in Boston for a couple decades, in the northeastern US for 35 years. Never was I so glad as when I returned to Georgia. Back to the land of hardly any snow.

One time the snow was way to deep for the children to play in. They were about 2,, maybe 3 -- and the snow was much deeper than they were tall. So my mom shoveled a whole lot of into the kitchen. Often it was too deep, but I just cleared a play area for them.

This is a picture of the snow we used to have walk to school in when I was little, Scotland is a snowy country....... I'm used to snow...lol...
That looks a lot like North Dakota, @hollydolly!

One of the only things I admire about this state is that people don't flip out when it snows. Snowfall doesn't even get a mention until we hit 12–18 inches (30–46 cm).

😁 @WheatenLover, you and I are the exact opposite! I grew up in central New York. Years later, when we lived in Virginia, I would get so irritated with everyone flipping out when even a dusting of snow fell. One week, we got 8 inches, and my younger daughter's preschool was closed for an entire week! In New York and North Dakota that doesn't even make us blink.

I had to keep reminding myself that, obviously, it's a state that doesn't get a lot of snow. And my ex, who worked (and still does) for the National Weather Service, reminded me that they define "winter storm" differently depending on the region. So, for example, 2 inches of snow is considered a winter storm by the NWS in southern states, but in snowier states the criterion is a lot higher.

It's funny how you get used to a particular type of weather. After living in Nevada, and now North Dakota, for so many years, I have no doubt that I would not handle Georgia's heat and humidity well at all. Don't get me wrong, though: I'd move to Georgia in a heartbeat. I love the South.

Yeah, we got about 1" of snow last winter, and everyone got all excited about it. Including me,, cuz as far as snow is concerned that is nothing!

The heat and humidity here never bothered me when I was in my teens and 20's, and it doesn't bother me now. Plus everything is air-conditioned. Moved to Boston, summer came, and everyone was loudly complaining about the humidity. I could not feel it at all. The cold, though is another story. Our car would not heat up very well in -25 degrees (not including windchill).

We almost got transferred to ND when I was a kid - to Minot AFB. My dad got his orders canceled and we went to Alabama instead.

Do you ever have those days where things get blown our of proportion. For example, my entire day was "ruined" because my grocery delivery was delayed. So "waiting for the delivery man" became a huge focus of the day. Whereas, does it really matter if he's here at 10:00am or 13:00? I mean, I get it might for someone - but for me? Nah.

Regardless, I allowed to get the entire door off-kilter. :D

Boston...you don't have t explain where it is.. it's enough to know you took your Caaaa..to the baaa... :sneaky::ROFLMAO:

Already back from my 120 mile, $20 worth of gas, Veteran's Day road trip. Quite enjoyable drive, despite not taking my camera out of the car. Did get out and walked around a dozen times. Diffuse high cloud skylight and calm breezes were great, but peak leaf translucence and saturation for most trees looked to be a week or two before in late October, such that many now are showing a brown yellow leaf mix versus green yellow. Had not done the loop drive since before the pandemic. Numbers of modest fall leaf subjects I could have worked. However, I didn't think any were strong enough aesthetically to ever see the public light.

Oh, boy, you guys dodged a bullet, in my opinion. I'd definitely take Alabama.

I managed to get used (sort of) to heat and humidity after living in first Missouri and then Virginia. But when we visited my sister in North Carolina one time after having been in dry Nevada for a few years, I had trouble handling it. We were sitting in her screened-in porch one evening, after sunset, and with a ceiling fan running, and I still had to go inside to the air conditioning. She was shocked at my wimpiness. 😄

Well I sure wish you were here @OneEyedDiva …you could go thru my receipts and add up my expenses on my project house. I had a mental breakdown about the sewer expense and haven’t been keeping up…pity me. And @hollydolly …about that rain? Still waiting. @Georgiagranny …my yard is a hot mess. So i think i will read my book and procrastinate…
I would surely help you if I could Muskrat. Financial stuff is my thing. While it stresses other people out, it relaxes me. I keep track of what my son owes me for his charges and what his cash back rewards are for using our cards. I deposit those in his account quarterly.

Up at seven again this morning, it's like being back at work. Sorted the laundry after it's overnight wash, made breakfast and got the lady's bread sliced ready for toasting. At nine thirty I will be sitting in the barber's chair. Sadly for me I shall have to seek a new barber. Joyfully for Louise, who cuts my hair, she is going on maternity leave.
On my return I shall prepare tonight's chilli con carne, there won't be time later. Yesterday's birthday girl has invited us back to their place this afternoon, that's likely to be coffee and cake. Somehow I need to squeeze in those vacuuming and dusting chores.

Hello! I'm just enjoying a cuppa, before making breakfast. It's starting out on the cool side today, but we're expecting to warm up to a beautiful fall day here. 🍁

Later this morning, I'm taking my Mom to Wal-Mart. That's always a fun challenge.....wish me luck!!! LOL

I don't know what time I'll get home. Most likely I'll be offline for most of the day. I hope everyone has a day filled with sunbeams and smiles! 😊

Good morning, everyone. It is cold outside 32 degrees but will warm up to 69 degrees today.

I still haven't figured out my new microwave but I think I understand it better. It is different than the old one which was easier to use.

Yesterday, my grocery delivery was missing 3 items so I told the company and they gave me a refund. But a couple of hours later, the delivery man brought the items. He asked me to contact the company and tell them he delivered them because it goes against him as an employee. I said I would and I did but so far no answer, so think I am still going to get the credit for them. Anyway, I did what he asked.

Have a good day, everyone and stay well. :)

So, of the 9 physicians I've been told to see, I've either seen or made appointments with 7 of them. I have appointments this week and next. And out of the box today, the racing favorite is the ultrasound person. Every year I have to get my repaired abdominal aortic aneurism checked to make sure the repair is holding. So far, so good, after many years.

After seeing all these docs, I'm pretty much sure that if another one is suggested, it will have to be for the prostate I don't have. I'm keeping a beady eye on my PCP!

I had to go to the ER about 5 months ago and they tested my blood for everything. I wonder if that was to increase their bill, since I already give so much blood for testing that they ought to give in and call me a donor. But... a blood test totally unrelated to my difficulty (an infection) was really high, not good. I just noticed that the other day. It is a pulmonary test, so that was alarming, although puzzling. So I quickly made the appointment with a pulmonologist. Lo and behold! I happened to choose the one my doc had referred me to 2 years ago. They already knew what I was seeing him/her for.

So, this lung problem has to do with the ability of the lungs to inflate and deflate. The lungs are stiff, or at least not unstiff for this problem that has a name I don't remember. But I am sitting here with lungs that do not feel stiff at all. They feel totally normal. No shortness of breath. Can hold my breath for a minute. Can take deep breaths, no problem. But apparently, all is not as it seems.

After that, I am going to put a new toner cartridge in my printer. I have 2 new cartridges. One of them leaked onto my hands when I took it out of the wrapper. I suppose this means I should use the other one and toss the leaky one? I hate to admit this, but I would normally try to install the leaky one. I mean, it's an entire cartridge! But today I am going to muster up some common sense and toss the leaky one. And ......... it is now a red letter day!

Then I have to take my son out driving again. I swear, I'd rather drive 90 mph on the zig zaggy roads in the West Virginia mountains (which is fun) than do this. Being in the passenger seat with an inexperienced driver causes me great anxiety. Or he can pay someone $100 an hour to do it. Frugality wins over anxiety.

Oh, and my grandson (actually my stepdaughter's son -- her kids think of me as their grandmother), went skating, fell trying something new (that he practiced on grass first), and broke 2 bones in his wrist. So we spent Sunday at the ER. He's having a hard cast put on today. His college has given him something (software?) so he can talk instead of type for the next 6 to 8 weeks. Geez! The poor kid (age 21) was in terrible pain, but not any more b/c of meds and the soft case stabilizing his wrist (I presume).

His 13 year old brother masterfully took charge of him. BUT... he is going to write Shake My Hand on his brother's new cast today.

Then I will have a jolly good time printing things. I have to get my oncology records sent to the new oncologist. I haven't seen him/her, and actually haven't decided whether to see this particular doctor. I think I will check around some more, and ask my PCP what he thinks. I had triple negative BC and I want a doc who is experienced and up to date with that. There have been some promising developments in treatment in the last year or two. Note that as far as I know, I am still in remission. I have had 2 mammograms in the last year to make sure.

Then, I have some pistachio gelato in the freezer. I may eat that, or I may have some integrity and wait until next week (as I decided to do after I ate the first pint last night). Maybe I'll let integrity win for a change -- hard to do with gelato.

Have a great day, everyone!
