Renting vs buying a rollator for a limited time

Hello, my father needs a rollator for about six months and he would like the Saljol carbon rollator. I have several offers, but we are unsure whether we should buy it for about €600 for those six months, or rather rent it for €35 per month (all-inclusive) during that period. What would you do in our situation?

$600 is a ridiculous price. Look at Amazon, and there are some in the $50 price range.
I used to volunteer at a hospice repairing medical equipment, and bought quite a few in the $50 price range for them to loan out.

Any charity shops/thrift stores around you? Got one for my wife for $35. They had 4 to choose from at the time, had to go with the one that was adjustable for her height.

That is one very expensive rollator. Nice ones with all of the bells and whistles can be had for less than half that.

A few basic of tips:
1. Assuming that he'll want to use it indoors, check the width to be sure it will fit through all doorways.
2. Especially if he'll be using it outdoors, larger (7"-8") wheels are decidedly better.
3. Be certain it collapses easily and will fit into the vehicle that will be used to transport him.
4. Never assume that as he ages he won't need it again at some point in the future.

Good luck to you.

Personally if you could afford it, I would buy it. You never know when you might need it again. Hopefully you won't, but you never know.
