Yes, we were living in Michigan's Upper Peninsula then, and the town of Negaunee flunked its Y2K test. That made me a little nervous, but it all turned out OK.

In Spain it's considered lucky to eat a grape for every time the bells chime at midnight, and all 12 grapes have to be eaten by the time the bells stop chiming. 10 of us went out on NYE one year and we all had our can of grapes, and not one of us got past eating..3... lol
