How are you today?

Morning everybody I see the site is running very weird today probably just got too cold It's only 20 degrees here this morning That's Fahrenheit and I see that the Groundhog and saw his shadow So I guess we'll have another month and a half of winter Seems funny to be sitting here talking to the computer Oh well Saves my hand again no big plans for the day Take what comes I guess See you later love you all

Well, I will head out tomorrow AM for N. GA; my daughter is having surgery on Wednesday morning. When she fell, she not only broke the bone in her leg, she also tore ligaments and tendons on the inner side right above the ankle. Dr. said technically it could heal without surgery but there would probably be problems later on, so best to get it taken care of.

I got my hair chopped off today--went from lower chin length to almost a pixie. Tired of having my hair in my face all the time. It will be easier to take care of on my trip too.

I got boyfriend's Lupercalia and Valentine's cards (and little pocket trinket) mailed a few days ago. I'm really hoping it gets there safely and in time. It's a bubble mailer under 2oz and I put about $10 postage on it to be safe.

The Valentine's card is one of the little school trading cards. He didn't do that in school growing up so I wanted him to have one. I would have loved to send along a little box of conversation hearts, but I worried the package would get tagged for having food stuffs in it.

I have little trade cards and boxes of conversation hearts to send (or give) the kids, eldest son's housemates and my bff as well and should probably get those in the mail sooner rather than later, to be safe. I can always mark them, "Open on Valentine's."

I'm okay now. Had a stressful 2 weeks. My car kept slowing down and came to a stop. This happened 3 times and had to be towed home on Friday after paying the mechanic $600.20 to find the problem. He has had it for 3 days now and my son rang
him today to ask the outcome. He said he thinks he found the problem and installed a Camshaft and Crank Sensor. He said it was a no charge. I drove the car home 20 klms without a problem. Please, please, let's hope this was the problem.

Not good. I had a spell of some sort Saturday evening in the dining room. One of my table mates thought I was having a stroke. I well might have been a TIA. Lasted only a few seconds but I felt a severe buzzing in my head, jumped up and blacked out. I knew something happened but no exactly what.

Since my 3rd hospitalization last year, some cardiologist changed my blood pressure medication without consulting me. I've been fighting to restore it as it worked just fine for 30 years. These doctors will not walk over another's orders. But this Lopressor med I am on now shows a side effect of what happened to me as well. Further, it has not lowered my pressure at all. I am still waiting to hear from my doctor.

@Paulina Where are you?

I'm mostly awake. It's cold-ish but supposed to warm up to almost 60 today. Remains to be seen.

So far, the litter box has been cleaned and kitty litter vacuumed up. I might get around to something else. That's another thing that remains to be seen.

I got the parts for the storm door yesterday and tried to put it all together but really need DSIL's fix-it skills to get the job done. He's going to come over in a little while before he goes to work.

DD was crabbier than a Florida beach yesterday because she was "having a bad day." When's it my turn to have a bad day? It gets tiresome being expected to always be cheerful and understanding.

Things are really dull here! The most exciting thing was trying to get the lid off a new Tide to Go stick. I was so pleased I’d kept my white sweater immaculate, probably because there was nothing to do, until I noticed a pin prick size spot on the sleeve. It was from the blood orange at breakfast time. Still, dull is better than dealing with issues, so I’ll accept dull.

That orange was good but nowhere near what @squatting dog’s grapefruit would have been like.

Oooo! It's mean posting your grapefruit. I love(d) grapefruit, but now I can't ever have it again because it interferes with cholesterol meds. 😭😭😭😭
I talked to my PCP about grapefruit and cholesterol meds. He said if I wanted an occasional glass of grapefruit juice or a grapefruit half, that was fine. He told me the studies showing grapefruit's deleterious effects on statins were done with fairly high amounts of GF juice. (Of course they were...)

I buy a grapefruit about monthly and have half one day and half the next day or the day after that. I'm still here.

I'm surprised they can just change your medication without consulting you or even getting your ok on it.

Had the same thing happen to me after taking new blood pressure med Carvedilol. I thought it was a stroke. Different doctor knew exactly what it was. Lucky I happened to see him within hours.
