Gentle posts for gentle folks

Good Afternoon, Kaila and Friends πŸ€— :coffee: ❀️

SF, as you all know, is slow today. So slow, in fact, that while I've been constructing this post, I've busied myself with Animal Crossing, Netflix and chatting with boyfriend in the pauses. :)

Husband is off today and resting as he's not feeling well; sore throat and a little congestion. :/

Otherwise, the day unfolds as usual and that's a good thing.

@Kaila, I know what that's like, waking way too early and nothing to be done about it. :/ -Lovely that you are already seeing some signs of spring, though! 🌷 Oh, just read that you did manage to get back to sleep. πŸ‘Œ

--Yes, it's creeping above freezing here today, tomorrow and hopefully for at least a little while, on Wednesday. I'm hoping some of this snow will melt away, making it easier to walk Lucius and giving him more to smell. I've felt bad for him in all this snow because he's pretty-much smell driven and for a while there was literally nothing to smell. He must have felt blind. :(

--Thankfully, today I was able to give him his full walk and there was a bit of nature for him because whoever did the sidewalk clearing on part of our usual walk tore up about a foot of grass on either side.

Hoping everyone on Kaila's wonderful come-as-you-are thread is feeling good and staying warm this Monday afternoon. πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•

Hi Medusa, I just watched animal crossing trailer to see what it’s all about and my head is still spinning. It’s quite an elaborate game. One where you can even have a dream life. I don’t think I’m cognitive enough to play such an intense game and it seems quite pricey. It seems like you need to pay for everything including clothes. Anyway, it’s fairly interesting. Do you play with any others or just your boyfriend? Not that I’m asking to play with you. It’s a bit too complex for my liking.

Hi Patty.

So it is a very elaborate game, but it is also goal driven, at least at first, so you don't get overwhelmed. What you pay for is the game, the switch to play it on and, if you want them, an online Nintendo account and the extra game, Paradise Islands, which is a separate download.

You don't pay for things in-game, like clothes, tools, etc.

I normally do not care for sandbox type games, but I fell in love with this one. I think it helps a lot that it is goal driven at first. By the time you are "cut loose," you're comfortable with how the game works.

The game has very recently, last month, become even bigger with the addition of the hotel so, I can imagine it seems like a lot! :)

I play with my boyfriend mostly and he is the one who first bought me the game and a Switch Lite console to play it on. Later, my husband bought me the Switch OlED (bigger hand-held) and a Switch Lite for himself. He plays occasionally too and I play with him as well at times.

This is the only game, not a PC-type game, that I enjoy right now. I used to play PC games, exclusively: time management, mostly, some seek and find.

Anyway, I can completely understand if AC doesn't seem like you're thing as I feel that way about most games. :)

@MarciKS, recently told me about a game I think I might enjoy, which is sort of like a spooky version of Animal Crossing, but it's not coming out for quite a while.

It's nice that you looked into it to see, in any event. :) What type of games do you enjoy?

Awww! It’s hard to get a glimpse of it with the animal crossing via the trailer. I do like some of the things like expanding your property and adding waterfalls and lakes. lol That looks like fun.

Your husband plays with you also. Do you have the same board setup as you have with your boyfriend or is it a completely different set up?

I don’t play any games online and the only offline game I play is scrabble. I know… yawn … boring. lol

Do you think you’ll try and spooky version of animal crossing?

I do think I'll try the spooky game, which is called Moonlight Peaks, when it comes out. :)

So there is no board; we each have our own consoles and all have the Nintendo online service (boyfriend has husband and I on his account) and through that we can "travel" to each others' islands and play. :)

Hey, I love Scrabble too! πŸ₯°

That’s really cool. Thanks for explaining that.
Moonlight Peaks? Wasn’t there a tv show called that? It was a real hit until it suddenly disappeared. Lol.

Birthday girl should also pick one of those beautiful roses off the lower section. πŸ₯°

Before the rest of us. ☺️
I agree. The flowers on this cake are beautiful.
I shall pick some of them but leave the rest. You guys don’t want me fumbling around with my fingers.

Note: Are all those flowes made from icing sugar? They look so real!!
