Can Anyone Identify these 'things' for me

the response I got from the picture was:
These small wispy feathers are common from:

  • Pillows or comforters
  • Jackets with down filling
  • Pet birds (parakeet, cockatiel, etc.)
  • Wild birds if a window was open

The adults left a trail of white dots which embedded wherever they travelled be it the rug, a cushion, clothing and the floor
which of course I vacuumed up. If on the floor too long they embedded into the wood and had to be scraped out.
Eventually what seems to be their head appears but all attempts to pull out were useless so I just hit them with vinegar.

They also embedded in clothing where seams were and at joints and wove their way along it. Just like stitching. I picked many of them out that way in some of my clothing but mostly just tossed it out.

I know, the whole thing is unbelievable but trust me it did and is still happening though I am more aware of their behaviour now and can act accordingly.

Of course now I am looking for another place to live which at my age is a huge task.

I have had enough of this today so signing off

Thanks all for input.
Well then, you are doing everything you can think of to rid yourself of this unwanted infestation. Regular feathers don’t walk on their own. I’ve never personally seen anything like this but I’m sure of if I did I’d be wanting to move also. Good luck to you in ridding yourself of this problem.
