Anyone else sometimes have trouble keeping down what they eat?

Interesting thread. I‘m having similar problems.

I hope all the pointers we're getting have been helpful for you too. (But sorry to hear that.). I sure appreciate hearing from others on this. Of course now I need to look into what exactly is going on with me.

I'm late to this thread but I've had trouble with this (and other related issues) since the day I was born. And since my mother and her mother also did, the first words out of any medical professional's mouth about all this is, "It's hereditary then. Next patient."

Sorry you've never been free of it. I guess eating holds less allure for you? More like a necessary evil.

About 13 years ago I got a hiatal hernia from something strenuous I did at the gym. What misery, I ended up having to take Omeprazole and eat blandly for about 6 months until the hiatal hernia healed.

I do have some sort of hernia which pops out a little when I do a sit-up. I wonder? I'll bring it up at my next check up.

The term, dysphasia, comes to mind. ...
difficulties with swallowing....
...disruptions to the smooth movement of food or drinks, in the esophagus.

Which could be a result of gerd/reflux, or from other causes that often go with getting older.

Yes my wife has some issues swallowing as well as the GERD symptoms.

Yeah, years ago a doctor told me he was absolutely going to get to the bottom of why I have so much trouble swallowing, he assured me he'd find out. Welp, when I went back in for the followup visit, he had the longest face I'd ever seen on a doctor and said he had no clue why I had the problem. I said, "So what do I do now?" He said "I don't know." (Story of my life.)

Well, at least he was honest. Too many wouldn't do that.
