Several House Explosions Lately: I Find This To Be Quite Scary

Meth labs are dangerous because of the chemicals they use and Acetone is one. Using Acetone is almost like using jet fuel. If it explodes, depending in the amount, a whole city block can suddenly disappear. I may sound a bit facetious, but it has happened, just not in a city.
Acetone definitely has a low flash point. Jet fuel is nowhere low enough to be compared to acetone.

I remember in 2018 in 3 communities north of Boston this happened. It was caused by a catastrophic overpressurization of the natural gas lines. During a routine pipeline replacement project, workers inadvertently bypassed critical pressure sensors. When the sensors were disconnected, they falsely detected a drop in pressure to zero. In response, the automated system opened the valves completely, flooding the neighborhood's low-pressure distribution lines with gas at 12 times the intended pressure.

Roughly 131 structures were damaged by fire and explsions. Several homes were completely obliterated. Only 1 person was killed but 30,000 people were forced to evacuate their homes immediately. More than 8,000 families were left without gas for heating or cooking for months well into the winter.
