Train Clips School Bus That Barely Cleared The Tracks

Around here the buses stop at train tracks with their flashers on and open the door to check to see what's coming or not. The bus stop sign is frequently used at a rr crossing as well.

Sounds like the driver had something to do besides drive a school bus even if appointment with her couch and tv set.

I shouldn’t be judgmental but my first thought was these are the people that we choose to leave our children with every single day.

Maybe we need to update our priorities and raise the bar.

I hope she loses her job.

It looked in the video as if the bus was crossing the track at a point that did not have crossing guard barrier or lights. I'm sure that can be avoided in some situations but does mitigate this problem.

I drive regularly through two school zone frequently when buses and parents are transporting students. Also encounter school buses on their route loading or unloading students. As soon as I spot a bus meeting me I go alert for there lights to go on. I completely support school bus safety.

One final note. Fifty four years ago my father was killed in a train collision with his vehicle. It was a blind intersection with no crossing signals so I and my family are especially sensitive to those hazards.

You can't take stupid out of people, but you sure can take stupid people out of school buses.

Most people work to live I get that. But some jobs one can't just go through the motions, rush, make mistakes etc. It comes back to being a conscientious employee that gets the big picture.
