Woke up to a cold house

Thermostat indicated it was 63F. Not much colder that I have it set at, but noticeable and indicated the furnace wasn't working. I pushed the reset button and the furnace turned on and so far, it's been okay. I just had it serviced 2 weeks ago. I sent a message to the oil company, but so far, no reply.
Isn't it an Easter holiday there ?

I had another technician come out on Wednesday because the furnace went out again. He said he didn't see anything wrong. I went down in the basement today and there was a puddle of water in front of the furnace and the pipes were cold. The representative I spoke with on the phone when the problem started said if it went out again not to restart it and to call them, but it's the weekend (so more difficult to get a tech here and they charge for an emergency call) and I need to take a shower later and need hot water.

Don't start the furnace, Deb. Heat water on the stove for a sponge bath. It'll be fun.

Furnace out again. I called the company as soon as they opened for business this morning. Was put on hold for 5 minutes. Somebody came back and said "We're very busy. Can we call you back?" I figured this was better than waiting with phone in hand, so I agreed. After 15 minutes and no call back, I called again with the same result. It was a half an hour later someone called back. I explained the problem and it was like a broken record - "We're very busy today. We'll get someone there as soon as we can." That was over 3 hours ago. I'm sitting here with a coat on.

What’s the weather like there? Is your house getting cold or is this just effecting the hot water. Either one is bad enough.

Still waiting after 5 hours.
That probably means you're not the only one having this problem. I'm sure they're working on it as fast as they can.

Maybe there's a broken pipe, fallen lines, or a station or transmitter blew out. There's been a lot of stuff falling out of the sky lately, and a lot of disturbance in the geomagnetosphere.

Also, maybe they're short staffed because of the holiday.

How cold is it there?

It’s 71 degrees here and I’m not that far from you.

The heat in my apartment complex was turned off for the season on the 10th…cool but no danger of frostbite.

Glad you heat is back on with nothing more complicated or expensive than a dirty nozzle.
