A couple of early observations re Melbourne

Yesterday I was almost caught in a rain shower. (without protection). Today I carried an umbrella. I noticed I am the only person carrying an umbrella.
The shopping centre car park bays seem rather small. Even the distance between the rows of cars is too small. I watched a car
reverse out of a bay, it had to back and fill 3 times to make its escape.

I see that parking lot issue here a lot. But then where I live about half the vehicles are pickup trucks.

That kind of parking tells you it might be more densely populated than home.

Melbourne's population is 5.5 million people. Perth has 2.5 million.
Noticeable on the freeways, so much traffic here in Melbourne.

Melbourne is vast .. especially, compared to sleepy little Adelaide. It would take some getting used to, driving in Melbourne. I like the bridges, and the city is beautiful at night.

I've visited Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra in Australia. I liked the fact that Melbourne is located along a river, but I didn't feel it had the charm of Sydney. It is still a beautiful city, but it felt like Chicago to me.

No, will not be a challenge. I will venture up into the Dandenong Ranges as often as possible, far from the throngs.
