I have an idea to save a house from burning down during bushfires

My vision would see the two halves of a dome retract underground.
When activated, they would emerge and meet in the middle. Totally enclosing the house.
Built like a geodesic dome in two retractable halves along these lines.

Not shooting down the idea just curious about how the construction would be possible for a home that was already built.

So if I'm right the house would have to be on stilts or raised to accommodate those halves being built under the house. Or the halves would have to be made to order , built to fit under the house prior to construction. I wonder what size the house would be ?

It could be disruptive to retrofit one.
Though there are some pretty smart engineers getting about.
Might be better to be incorporated into new builds.
The idea would not lend itself to tall houses. Single level homes would be the best design.

It would be much cheaper to keep away forests, woods and bushland from settlements.
Right. I live in a forest. Homeowners insurance is difficult to get because of that. Most of North America is now designated high fire risk. So shall we just decimate our forests? Like they did in South America and we made such a fuss about it? I am at the point that if my house burns down in a fire, so be it. I will mourn the burned forests but the house? That can be rebuilt. Or not.

Years back, we switched to plastic grocery bags to "save the trees". Now, the plastics have been banned; bring your own bags. Except if you don't bring your own, they will give/sell you paper ones. Where are the activists who chained themselves to trees to save them? They have disappeared.

What about earthquakes, floods, hurricanes? In spite of the things we do that hurt our planet, Mother Nature always wins in the end.
