Books! How do you read and what do you read?

Yesterday afternoon I finished 'Lady Clementine' by Marie Benedict, historical fiction book about Clementine Churchill and her life with husband,Winston. I didn't know anything about her,or her life with husband. The book starts in 1908- ends in 1945.I recommend the book
I’ve put this on hold at my library—looking forward to reading it!

While I wait, I checked out another of her books, “The Queens of Crime”— per the summary, the authors of the golden era of mysteries— A Christie, D Sayers, etc— team up to solve a crime. Should be good!

It must be marvelous to be able to read lots of books, I can't red more than a few paragraphs before I nod off to sleep.....
and, CS, I'll bet that you didn't know that I was once a writer, but I had to give it up, because the head came off my hammer and I had no way of sharpening my chisels. 😊

I DNF the paranormal romance about a curvy wolf shape-shifter and her pack-alpha mate. It was good at first and then I lost interest.

Now I'm starting: How To Marry A Marble Marquis: A Regency Monster Romance (Talons & Temptations Historical Monster Romance Book 1) by C.M. Nascosta

I love a good monster romance. I haven't listened to that latest Star Trek trilogy I was midway through, in quite a while, being caught up with my affirmations, meditations and creepy podcasts. I will not be judged. 😅

This afternoon started reading"The Bookstop:A HIstory of the American Bookstore" by Evan Friss
The book is well researched and there are 13 chapters of the bookstores&their owners. The 1st chapter which I just finished was about Benjamin Franklin, some things I knew about him,it was interesting

”The Uncharted Flight Of Olivia West” by Sara Ackerman . Published 2024. Historical fiction (loosely)
Set in Hawaii and switches between 1927 and 1987.

Olivia is a young pilot at a time when very few women were accepted in the world of aviation. In 1987, Wren is a young woman, broke and directionless, who inherits a remote piece of property in Hawaii. A barn on the property contains an old plane. The story revolves around Olivia’s life and Wren solving the mystery of the plane and who she herself is.

Easy read, enjoyable.

I ordered this from the library and am nearly finished with it, though I wish it were 200 pages longer because I'm enjoying it so much. What did you think of it?
Loved it, @StarSong ... just the right blend of quirky characters, a little humor and some real-life problems dealt with. I've read several others of her books since and enjoyed them, though none came up to this one but a good, light read none the less.
