All raptors have fairly long legs because they need great flexibility and maneuverability when acquiring prey.

Can You Love and Respect Your Parents and Not Have A Close Relationship With Them?

My folks were OK parents. I have good memories of them, mostly. They were pretty self-absorbed, pretty self-centered, but I was into my own life, too, from a fairly early age. They divorced when I was eight, but I made sure that I saw my dad, as often as I wanted. No major issues. I miss them...

Do you still have your high school yearbook?

I have all four of mine. Not that long ago, I used one to look up the spelling of this gal's last name, who was three years ahead of me, at my high school. I then found her on the internet and wrote to her, telling her off for something she had done to me some fifty years earlier. I felt good...

What Did You Have on Your Last Sandwich?

Just had two of these: Beets, grape leaves, spiral cut carrot, cucumber, artichoke hearts, onion, lettuce, tomato, vegan provolone, avocado, vegan sour cream on toasted spelt bread. Today, I tried something new and exciting: I actually put wood toothpicks in the halves of the sandwich, and then...

    America's Got Talent

One dance competition travesty that I remember: Bobby Bones won DWTS. It was obvious that he, himself, was embarrassed, winning purely on his popularity as a radio personality on the national scene. His dancing was about as good as an awkward high schooler in an intro dance class.

    America's Got Talent

The finals won't happen until September 18th. What's on, now, are various elimination rounds. Yeah, gets confusing. Janet watches it, I sometimes will give it a few minutes. That fellow you mention, above, is pretty good. Thing is, with all of these competition shows, they are more personality...

What do you do on a rainy day?

1 Samuel 17: 48 As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. 49 Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground. As a...

Video games don't contribute to violence? Nonsense!

Study, after study, is funded by the multi-billion dollar video game industry. What else would you expect them to conclude? If you read the many eyewitness reports about those who shoot scores of folks, at close range, almost all speak of how calm the shooter was as he walked among his victims...

I don't deal with forgiveness. I simply move on, knowing to not make the mistake of trusting the offending party, ever again. Forgiveness is a nice concept, but I seriously doubt that it really exists, when it comes to feeling 100% as positive about a given individual as you did before he/she...

    No Slip Tub Stickers

I almost broke my neck because of one of those slippery (no) suction bath mats. I hate them. The no-slip strips work far better, but you need to carefully brush a little super glue on them before applying to the BONE DRY tub floor. After that, give it a half-day before you use the tub.

Old fashioned names we hardly hear today

I only hope they had another kid and named it "Pokey," because that's what it's all about! Of course, it'll be tough dressing them, when they're kids: You'll put their left feet in, they'll pull their left feet out.......

Are you going to try the new "meatless" whopper?

Broccoli, onion, carrot, celery, cilantro, parsley, garlic, turmeric, oregano. Can't give proportions. I add the flour, slowly, mixing as I go, until I have a mixture that I can form into patties. After chilling, it's easier to form the patties. Also, add a splash of ev olive oil to the mix.

Are you going to try the new "meatless" whopper?

Make your own veggie burgers, my friends. Just put your favorite veggies in a good food processor. Give them a go. Put in a bowl. Slowly add (very low-gluten) Spelt flour or any gluten-free flour you like. Add a tablespoon of egg replacer, and one of non-aluminum baking powder. Slowly add water...
