‘They had him by his face’: Elderly Asian man mauled by two pit bulls in Texas

Some people like to own a dangerous dog that's prone to attack. And some people enjoy seeing their dog scare people.
Years ago, I met such an idiot during my walk. A guy was doing some gardening in his front yard & his huge Rottweiler was roaming free.
When the dog saw me, he trotted over to me. That's fine; I love being approached by dogs. But then he started growling & baring his teeth.
The owner looked over & saw what was happening & just continued planting his flowers.
I yelled, "You better call you dog." He ignored me.
I yelled, "You're going to lose your dog in 2 seconds," he rushes up to me & starts yelling at me - "How dare you threaten to kill my dog."
I said, "How dare you be so stupid to let a dangerous dog endanger people."

I like dogs. One of the neighbors has the best little Beagle I've ever seen, and she comes over to stay with us, for several hours a day, when they go to work.

However, I have NO love for big vicious dogs. A few years ago, a young couple moved into the area, and they had two of these pit bulls, and let them run loose. Those brutes liked to chase cars, and killed a couple of the young deer fawns. There were a couple of times they wandered into our woods and ran around me on the tractor...barking and growling.

Then, deer season came along, and one of the local hunters "took care" of these invaders.

If someone ever brought any of these into our area, again, I would probably carry a can of "wasp spray" with me and give them a good shot in the face, and if that didn't get their attention, I would become a "hunter".

I am not a dog owner. On a recent trip through Western Canada and right into The Yukon, I have noticed the presence of many dogs in camping and rest areas. In camp grounds the owners don't seem to have a problem letting their dogs bark and bark all evening disregarding the presence of other campers. I haven't seen any pit bulls on this trip. In the past I have noticed that attack dogs, like pit bulls, are usually associated with young men with trucks in the age bracket of 25 - 40 years. Seems that they are trying to be macho. Me thinks they have an inferiority complex and desperately need to prove that they are "MEN." Yes, I agree that any attack dog that does attack anyone should be put down immediately and his owner should be given a jail sentence. Sorry, no bleeding heart liberal "slap on the wrist" from me!
