‘You’re not coming in here, mate’: War veteran, 102, fights off burglar who forced his way into home.

A 102-year-old war veteran has told how he fought back against an intruder who tried to force his way into his home.

Centenarian John Cox suffered cuts and bruising when the offender pushed past him into his house after claiming he was there to check the lights.

I would hope that seniors would not open their doors to people who are not expected. Even 20 years ago, I would wind open the upstairs window to see who was at my front door, to tell a salesperson I was not interested.

This story ended well, but some unfortunately do not.

Thank goodness now for ring door bells with video cameras , of which we have one... and thank goodness Mr Cox is ok..., perhaps some charity should set up a way of installing ring door bell video cameras or similar for seniors , so they can see and talk to whoever is at the door without opening it..

Put up some cameras, they work wonders inside looking out and outside. Also Several cans of wasp spray at the door, works great and sprays a good 20 feet. Past that is Zeus, then me with a 12 gauge. An interesting notice here, each and everyone of the wanderers stopped dead when the cameras were spotted.
