“Let’s roll.” Means something different than it used to.

I used to say “Let’s roll” all the time, to my kids when we were ready to leave, to a friend when we were about to go into the restaurant for lunch, to myself as I was gearing up to start a project. Just a catchy phrase to convey let’s be on our way or let’s do this.

Our hero Todd Beamer used that same phrase on Flight 93, as he was preparing to do what he could to stop that plane from crashing into the White House.

Every time I use it now, I think of Todd. I think
of his bravery, his grace, his selflessness as he prepared to say goodbye to his wife and two kids with a third on the way, as he prepared to sacrifice himself to save his country.

I stopped using it for a while. It felt trite, shallow, to use it for simple things. Then I thought no, because I can’t help thinking of Todd and all he stood for every time I say the phrase.

So now, now I say it proudly, with a silent nod to that day so many years ago now, that changed everyone’s lives. To that hero who did what he could. And it’s a reminder to me, to do what *I* can to make life a bit better for me and mine.

Thanks Todd. For the reminder that we’re never powerless or helpless, that even in the darkest of days we can make a difference. Thanks for that. It’s humbling and expansive all at once.

Say it with me now. Pledge to make a difference, to not give in, to not be helpless or hopeless, to honor our heroes, their legacy, their memories.

Say it with me. “Let’s roll” 🇺🇸🤍IMG_4579.jpeg

Let's Roll.... Mr Beamer... 🫡

I don't normally believe in Seers... but Baba Vanga prophesied 9/11 ..in 1989

'Horror, horror!' she reportedly said in 1989. 'The American brethren will fall after being attacked by the steel birds. The wolves will be howling in a bush, and innocent blood will be gushing.'

According to true believers, the 'steel birds' refer to the hijacked planes, while the 'American brethren are the Twin Towers. It’s also striking that she uses the word 'bush'. This may be interpreted as a reference to then-President George W. Bush, who would lead the 'wolves' of American military might in the retaliatory War on Terror.

Why don't seers and prophets, and now that I think about it, the bible, just say two planes are going to hit the twin towers in New York?

This article linked below is insightful, educational, well written, and helpful. I'm posting the link because the Bible was mentioned above by some members. I'd rather walk away feeling good about some clarity so I won't be joining in if it becomes a discussion as it may be misquoted out of context. I don't want this nice thread of tribute for our heros to take a dark turn.

What the Bible Says About the Terrorism of 9/11 | Bible Resources.com
From the author: "We certainly do not feel we have all the answers to this enormous tragedy, as it is really beyond human comprehension; however, we feel we should contribute some spiritual insight to help bring some understanding..."
