He needs to wear the boot for another month, and will use the walker and/or a cane as needed to deal with balance issues resulting from not using that leg for two months, but damn!! He’s mobile again!! 🙌💕 And tickled to death about it too! 😍

..and still got that happy smile... great news, well done to the pair of you... keep going Ron

I just had my lower lumbar spine redone. That was done on 1/20. After I woke up from the surgery, I noticed all kinds of toys in my room, including a walker. I told the nurse to return it. There was no way I was going to use a walker. I have balance issues, but I learned very quickly to take baby steps and slow down. My left leg feels like it’s very weak. I can’t go to the steps and use both feet to climb the steps. I have to take a step with the left foot first and then bring my right foot up and continue that way.

The surgeon said that once the nerves heal and I get some therapy, all of the feeling the ability to use the leg should return. You should see the brace they gave me to wear whenever I am up and about. It looks like something you would see on “Star Wars.” I don’t wear that either. They also gave me a shower chair, which I also don’t use. The only thing I use is a cane, which helps me stay balanced.
