1 dead, 22 injured during Juneteenth Celebration outside Chicago

Never heard of this celebration before today.
There were similar shootings in Missouri and Washington
yesterday too.
Yes, I saw that and all these shootings are so tragic. Juneteenth is a national celebration in the US, celebrating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, which makes this tragedy even worse.

I hate reading about these shootings...over and over. They are senseless and tragic as it is but when they happen during what are supposed to be joyous occasions, I agree with you Seadoug...they seem even worse. And even worse yet, is when it involves young people. Bless the soul of the person who was killed and condolences to the family and friends. I hope that all of the injured will heal well...they might physically but the mental trauma may last a long time.

wonder whether ya ever gonna get better gun laws and therefore gun controls over there - this time never??
Chicago and Illinois have some of the toughest gun laws in the country. One dead is a slow weekend in Chicago.

Most of the killings or shootings in Chicago involve teens that will kill you for looking at them funny. If they feel they were disrespected they will hunt you down even if it means waiting for a gathering with innocent & people unassociated with their grudge around.
