Of course #1, chicken soup is known for being helpful. I'll likely never get and use #s 9, 10 and 11. Can't eat grapefruit due to some medications. I can't stand the smell of garlic but my son puts a little in his bean soup (smell undetected), so I get a small amount sometimes. I drink decaf green tea every day, sometimes twice a day. 11 Best Foods to Fight a Cold or Flu

#2 on the list (onions) and #8 (garlic) might help keep people far enough away so as to not catch a cold in the first place ;) Thanks for posting the list because I like mushrooms, and didn't know they were good to fight off colds. I always thought fruits and vegetables helped build resistance. I saw some of those on the list. I take a high dose vitamin C supplement. Whether it helps or not, I don't know, but I haven't had a cold in years.

I'm on board with a lot of these foods except the same about #9 grapefruit, it interferes w/blood pressure meds.
#10 Rosehips & #11 Watercress aren't on my meal plan.
But, watercress sounds really healthy, so I may try that. I remember my mother used to buy it a lot.

You're welcome of course, MACK. I should be taking Vit C but I don't. I have some here too, which has expired, but even doctors say meds (don't know about supplements) are good for at least a year after the expiration dates. What I do take daily is zinc (90 mg.) That is really helpful. I don't get nearly as many colds as I used to and if I get one, its lifespan is cut short.
