The 10 pm EST news has just reported that 12 tornadoes hit NE Ohio last night. I am thankful that I have power, many don't right now and won't till later this week. Microbursts and Macrobursts hit, too. They are very strong winds over small and large areas at 125 mph. Houses were destroyed, trees and poles fell some hitting homes.

Some news stories on an area:

That is terrible Ruthanne. I didn't see the news yesterday or today. I never heard of micro bursts or macrobursts. I'm glad you weren't affected by it but still so scary while it is going on.

I was watching Netflix and didn't know about it until later. I'm glad it wasn't where I live.

Tornados can be some of the worst storms...in that they can strike with little or no warning. Hurricanes do far more damage, but at least the people in their path usually have several days warning. We lived in Wichita, KS. for about 4 years, and we generally had to run for the tornado shelter at least 3 or 4 times a year.

I remember when that killer tornado hit Xenia years ago. I lived in Ohio at the time and I went with a friend to pick up a part. Miles before we got there we began seeing things like uprooted trees and rolled-up barn roofs. The most graphic sight when we got into Xenia was a trailer park that was a big pile of rubble with a washing machine sitting on top. We knew it was not possible that everyone who lived there had survived. That is still one of my most vivid memories.

I'm glad you're safe, Ruthanne.

I recall that tornado, too, Jane. Thank you.
