13 Year Old Arrested For Drunk Driving

Welcome to New Mexico -- the land of DWI! Betcha there's no car insurance, either. They'll probably be released with a slap on the wrist, and told to go forth and sin no more. Either that, or the DA will screw up and miss the deadline to charge, and they'll still walk. Sure, they'll yank that grandmother's license, if she has one, but people who do this kind of thing don't care about that, anyway. Oh, and if they yank the car's plates, it'll turn out to be uncle Joe's car, and he needs it to get to the doctor, so they'll give those back, too -- and these folks will be back at it in no time.

Remind me to never even walk on the sidewalk in NM...jeez.

I've been in traffic court here once or twice. LeRoundalou Robinson you are charged with driving on a suspended license, this is your fourth offense this year, possession of cannabis, failing to signal correctly, possession of an unauthorized firearm, not having a valid insurance card, possession of an unauthorized prescription pad, attempted kidnapping, evading arrest, and minor assault and battery...sir, you are going to the pokey while this court considers what to do with you...

The grandmother would be jailed for child endangerment and the kid would be in juvie hall until he turns twenty one.

OMG No way. Granny has to be responsible. She gave the booze to a minor and allowed him (or made him) drive. Nope, it's all resting on her shoulders. What a loving grandmother.
