By the way, the "SARS" being referred to in these articles is SARS-COV-2, also known as COVID-19. So 100% of people with COVID-19 would obviously have SARS-COV-2 because they're one and the same disease.
The SARS virus that terrified the world nearly 20 years ago is technically known as SARS-CoV or SARS-CoV-1. Related to the current virus but not the same, by any means.
In any event, the Stanford sample size was incredibly small. Of the 49 people who tested positive for COVID-19, 11 also tested positive for something else. 4 of those were rhinovirus. Also known as the common cold.
