2018

So much happens in a year!

This was one of the bright spots.

So many things really, but hurricane Florence and the California wildfires are standouts. :(

On the plus side one of my favorite tennis players, Sascha Zverev, shocked everyone in the tennis world by winning the ATP finals. :love_heart:

Not the best of years, my very good friend Sally died.

Then Democracy got very sick and might die, while at
the same time Anarchy seemed to grow and thrive.

Mike.

I agree with Chic about the fires in Calif,Hurricane Florence
A couple good sports related events
1.My favorite tennis player, the 'ageless wonder',Roger Federer at age 36 defended his title in Jan at the Australian Open winning his 20th Grand Slam
2.Desiree Linden became the 1st U.S. woman in 40 yrs to win the Boston marathon
3. the expansion NHL team, the Las Vegas Vegas Golden Knights surprised the experts and everybody else by making into the Stanley Cup Finals against Wash Capitals

I know the world is a big place... so many exciting and at the same time terrible events happen throughout the year, but there is nothing in this world that affects my world like my granddaughter. About 4 months after my husband died my daughter had my first and only grandchild. We are very close and she has been a very important part of my healing process. As I watch her step into our adult world (kindergarten), 2018 will be remembered through her eyes as she takes her first steps into all things possible.

My daughter announced my 2nd granddaughter will be born end of Feb or March... so our world and my heart just got bigger.

Hiraeth, what a beautiful photo and she looks just like you. Congratulations on the coming attraction. My Mom missed being a Great grandma by 3 months. Our holiday table had a lot of empty spots for awhile but when I looked around this passed Thanksgiving new faces are taking over. Bittersweet I guess.
My best friend and husband have gone into a nursing home. Hard to think we will not have them visit ever again.

Life goes on though. I'm also enjoying my Grandsons and so happy we don't have to travel across country to see them.

Just want to say that she is a doll! I agree with Ruth, she does look like you, that was my first thought. Then I thought that outfit with the bow is the cutest thing Ive seen in awhile.

I have 5 grandsons so don't get to see pretty dresses. :)

One other thing I forgot to mention that happened to me which I wasn't thrilled about.
The IRS audited me and I owed more money Sue
