It was a bit painful, so I left one important fact out. I will never get over my oh so young daughters death.
You've led an amazing life, @OneEyedDiva ! I'm particularly fascinated with your musical and psychic abilities! BTW, Ice cream is my favorite, too!1. I didn’t find out who my (birth)mother was until the day of my 16th birthday party. I thought she was my beloved cousin.
2. I found 3 of my (half) siblings at age 51 and became quite close with 2 of them. One brother lived a distance away and our older sister, whom I told I am the spitting image of, died a few years earlier.
3. I worked in the same office for 27 years in various capacities, starting as a secretary.
4. I didn’t learn to drive until I was 37 and only then because I needed my license for the job(s) mentioned below. Three supervisors had offered me the position and I figured opportunity wasn't going to knock a 4th time.
5. I was a VD Investigator (real title) for the city, then for my last 14 years I was a Disease Intervention Specialist for the state of N.J. (same office) working STDs & HIV .
6. In 1998 I retired at age 50, three weeks before my 51st birthday.
7. I am an addict....an ice cream addict. I am so addicted to ice cream that the 48 oz size is usually gone in 24 hours.
8. After retirement a serendipitous set of circumstances led me to buy a digital piano on which I began composing and recording immediately.
9. I released my debut multi genre, instrumental album in 2003 and three singles in 2020. My tracks have been streamed and downloaded across the globe.
10. One of my songs got me charted on Brisbane Australia Aussie.com’s Top 100 Artists list, coming in at #74.
11. My first organ teacher handed me over to my last private music teacher who could teach me Jazz theory. That was 47 years ago and we’ve been best friends ever since.
12. Thirty years ago I accepted Islam the same day I married my second husband, who was Muslim.
13. I pulled a 4.0 GPA in college, which I started at age 37, while working full time and raising my son.
14. I am grandmother to 5 grandchildren, but step-grandmother to over 75 grands and great grands.
15. I hate real disasters but disaster movies are one of my favorite genres.
16. I’ve lived in the same city all my life and have owned this apartment for 52 years.
17. I have African, Indian, Spanish, German, British, Finnish and Native American ancestry.
18. My eyes don’t match due to two eye surgeries, one of which caused a bleb to grow under my right lid. That eye appears bigger (more wide eyed) than the other.
19. I’m related to two stage and screen actors: Keith David & Kendra C.Johnson (cousins).
20. Most of my family and friends call me by my nickname, Evelyn. Just as well because I never liked Helen, the first name on my birth certificate.
21. Over 25 years ago, I legally changed my name to an Islamic one I chose, but kept my middle name to honor my birth mother.
22. My parents bought me a piano at age 10, after I nixed playing the violin, as part of the school music curriculum. I thought it would mess up my chin.
23. I can’t ride a bike. I was learning as a child but hurt myself so stopped. I tried again as an adult on a folding bike I bought, but could barely stay upright, so after a few months, I gave it to one of my step grandchildren.
24. I am genuinely psychic (precognitive dreams, knowings and psychometry) and the abilities became more pronounced after I had my son. So when he tells me my "brain is weird", I tell him it's his fault.
25. I am a loving, supportive, fun, beloved mother and grandmother, but some of my loved ones, including my son, are afraid of me. My son says it's because I'm his mother and I'm "crazy". My honorary daughter and grandchildren feel I exhibit certain “powers” that they don’t want to get on the wrong side of. This is true! I used to think they were joking but they’ve assured me they are not.
My dear friend...you don't know the half of it !! If you want to find out more about my psychic abilities, check out my posts in the Paranormal and Strange Occurences forum, if you haven't already. I'm behind in posting, but I will be posting more things. Thank you for your interest!! The ironic thing is, according to my brother, I probably got my musical abilities from my biological father, his dad, who none of us wanted to own as our father! See below. You've led an amazing life, @OneEyedDiva ! I'm particularly fascinated with your musical and psychic abilities! BTW, Ice cream is my favorite, too!
My birthmother was pretty. She was devilish and so much fun! Unfortunately she died of Bright's Disease at age 25, five years before I found out she was my mother. She was r*ped when she was 13 and was barely 14 when she had me. My grandmother, who I knew as Aunt Helen, didn't want me (she claimed she couldn't afford to keep me) so gave me to her oldest brother and his wife because they had no children. Her half brother and his wife in Connecticut wanted me but they already had children. So the blessing was that I got to grow up around my real family and we were close.Diva, good thing your cousin was Beloved... can you imagine how it would have been to find that your mother was someone you hated...![]()
Not if we aren't using our real names. Someone once commented on one of my financial posts that I shouldn't have mentioned the name of my bank. I responded that I dare anyone to try hacking the account of OneEyedDiva.this is way too much information to post online. just like those silly facebook question and answers. the answers usually relate to people's passwords.
so from any one of these posts on here...which one is giving away a password?... and for what ?... first you'd have to know someone's real name...You don’t even have to be logged into this site to read these posts.
Not everyone uses complicated passwords. Many people use 1234567.
hahaha.. as an absolute Archetypal Aries myself..I know exactly what you mean... Patience may be a Virtue.. but clearly I'm not virtuous...I have an Aries Moon so I don't even read through 25 anythings much less compose them because I have lacked the patience to do this since my college days when there was a purpose to such work.![]()
You are fine. I'm just too lazy to do it.
