37 Mile Tunnel Completed Under the Swiss Alps.

Thank you for posting that link, I really enjoyed looking at all the photos and reading about it. I was wondering how many died while constructing the tunnel and I see it was 8. I think that tunnel is great but I really feel claustrophobic in anything like that. And I know it's all in my head. I have been in BART and went under the San Fransisco Bay a time or two and then I've been in the car tunnel under the water between Denmark and Sweden and I didn't like that at all either.

Oh if it went though it in a fast train I'd be OK like the channel tunnel ...but I've driven through Mont Blanc tunnel under the Alps which is only about 8 miles long..France through Switzerland and into Italy...and it's I didn't like it at all, it seemed to go on forever..!!

I have been through the Channel Tunnel several times between London and Brussels and 2 or 3 times between London and France and I never think about going under the sea..............................on one forum I was on an Australian lady said she had been through the Channel Tunnel and was expecting to see fish as they went through the tunnel.

I get the creeps in long tunnels. I'm slightly claustrophobic. Most things don't bother me, but tunnels do. I get through them OK, but the whole time I'm thinking about the possibility of a collapse and being trapped in there.

I think not Mike. :) I do want to get to visit England sometime though. My dad's dad's family is from there. I have only been there in the airport and I was pretty thrilled to even get to do that. :)

C'mon over Linda we'd love to have you. :D
