Costco is closed. anyone know where else i can get a case of 47 mustards for a family of 3?

at exactly what point do your immigrant parents go from refusing to buy you the shoes you wanted because you should be happy you aren’t “a starving child in india” to roaming in costco for three hours because their granddaughter said she wants “a blanket shaped like a shark”

I go to Trader Joe's two or three times a year and IMO the best thing about it is the paper grocery bag.

I have quite a few of those since I go almost everyday...almost.:)

Going today. I do have their bag that you buy but I use that for other things....you buy the paper ones also but I’m talking about the other bags they sell.

There is a Trader Joe’s group on Facebook I joined and it’s really interesting to see how some people combine things to make a meal.

Also lets you know if something is good or not so good.

I always check it out before a shopping trip there..

I've found a few good things, I like the shelf stable heavy cream and the flowers but most things just don't have enough WOW for the money to suit me.

I'll stick with Joe's frugal relatives and shop at Aldi!:playful:

Funny CeeCee, I shop at Costco at least once a month and can laugh at or relate to many of those. This one was funny too, I remember the very first time I went to Costco having the guy eyeball my cart so carefully, like I was trying to sneak a big ribeye roast outside. They always use the marker for me, but hoping someday they don't. :devilish:

The lady at Costco didn't mark my receipt with a marker as I left, and while I didn't steal anything, I still feel like I got away with something pretty devious.

Never been to a Trader Joes, but they opened one up across town a few years ago, we just never got around to going there but would like to someday.

For me I think that Whole Foods is way too pricey compared to other natural health food stores, I rarely go there, but I understand that Trader Joes is cheaper than WF, is that true?

Since I live alone I really don’t need a Costco membership anymore but when I visit my daughter I stock up at hers on paper towels and other non perishables.

As for TJ’s I’m so close I could probably walk. :)

Yes, it’s true. I never go to Whole Foods...maybe once a year.

Trader Joe’s isn’t very expensive but it’s not a big store....Whole foods has a much larger selection of everything.

That was too funny. I go to WF about once a year.

I laughed when he sang about the cheese counter- he mentioned my very own favorite: Humboldt Fog!

In the recent past, their store brand "365" large bottle of olive oil was a good deal at $10.00. Also, their store made bread wasn't overpriced at all, I've seen worse at Stop and Shop.

Trader Joe's has some nice things, but I've only been there a few times. It's 11 miles away, not bad- but it's the 4-lane change-over on the Interstate I can't handle well.

Whole Foods is also about 10-11 miles away but at least it's a safer drive.

I don't go to the nearest WF because they ruined their nice neighborhood lunch room to put in a bar in an already saturated neighborhood nor Costco. I'm a single person in small one BR apt, no room to store case lots. But I like our local TJ. very good handicap parking, employees are always nice, great rye bread & various things I like at competitive prices. Wouldn't do like a whole weeks shopping there, and the dang handles on their paper bags break very easily. I bring my TJ bag and maybe one other.

I’ll have to go again but it’s my furthest store at around 6 miles and traffic is heavier so takes longer than it should.

My Trader Joe’s is in a big plaza and parking is always available especially since I go early in the morning.
