50 Worst Movies

I spent a little over an hour watching a doc titled 'The 50 Worst Movie Ever Made' on IMDB, it's an hour I'll never get back. What made it comical was that I think I'd seen several of them! Most were horror movies or kung-fu, I think 'Billy Jack' was there. Ed Wood should have a shrine somewhere in Hollywood. Even one by James Cameron (Titanic) was there. The 50's-70's were well represented.

I expect that Michael Cimino's HEAVEN'S GATE starring Kris Kristofferson is on that list.

Another one would be: The Sailor Who Fell From Grace With the Sea.

I like the country music of Marty Robbins. However, he made a movie called "The Ballad of a Gunfighter around 1964. He was a great singer but the movie really was terrible. I couldn't finish it because it was just awful!

@Nosy Bee-54 , @Packerjohn I don't think either choice you made NB were on there, but the Marty Robbins was I think. Sorry @Tish neither one, but the Blob would have been my guess. Here's the list. Just looked at the list, I do remember 'The Killer Shrews' with James Best (Roscoe P Coltran from the Dukes of Hazzard).

Here's my view list

The Killer Shrews
The Trial of Billy Jack
Xanadu
Howard the Duck (hope I haven't seen it but it does look familiar)
Ishtar

That's all I can remember

These kinds of lists make me nuts. Who decides what is bad and what is good? Mut I may watch that video again some time..as I forget all that was on it
Someone above mentioned Xanadu. Oscar worthy ? Nope. But the music was good and it was a nice cheesy love story. I liked The Mist, too.
Yes, there are movies I feel I wasted my time watching...but does that make them a bad movie because I did not like them?

The Big Chill. Hubby and I went to see this movie years ago - it was a boring movie. However the music was great so on a scale of 1-10, I would give it a 2 due to the music :D

OK, back in the '90s the worst movie I ever watched that was 'supposed' to be good was Water World, with Kevin Costner. It stunk! Boring!

I couldn't bear to watch more than 1/2 hour, moved on and watched the other rental I picked up- Striptease, starring Demi Moore. It stunk too, the plot and acting were subpar, but let's face it, the movie was a "made for" vehicle to showcase Demi Moore's boob job. The scenery was interesting tho'. :sneaky:

Remember back a few years ago, my wife. my SIL and daughter had all read 'The Vikings' they had made a movie based on the book which I had seen. IMHO it sucked Richard Widmark had starred. The 3 insisted that I rent it from Netflix. I tried to enlighten them about it, but no. Let's get it, they all requested that I stop about it half way in, it was that bad. But that's just my opinion.

Did you follow those up with 'The Postman'?

There are two kinds of horrible movies. The first is the unintentional kind: Dated horror, western, sci-fi movies with cheesy special effects and awful acting. The Ed Wood kind of thing. The second deserves its own circle in the Inferno: the pretentious, meaningless, hyped-by-the-critics "film" where you leave the theater saying "what the hell was that about?" I'm thinking of three films in particular: The Tree of Life, The Master, and Meek's Crossing. All excruciating to watch, all recipients of critical acclaim. Others include a film called Youth with Michael Caine. There are many more.

There's another Viking movie with Kirk Douglas and Tony Curtis (!) as a half-Viking. His Bronx accent is really on display in this one. Right up with the famous "Yonduh lie da gaddens of my fadduh". Actually the movie isn't bad, though.
