50th Anniversary and the Making of Jaws Tonight

Paladin1950

Still love 50's & 60's music!
Tonight at 9 PM on the National Geographic Channel. It's narrated by Steven Spielberg, I think. I'll be watching. I remember standing in a long line on a Manhattan street, waiting to get into the theater.

I watched it last night, and was fascinated by it. It covers the usual parts of the film which most of us are familiar with, but the documentary provides new insights and commentary from Spielberg, along with from other famous directors like James Cameron, Guillermo del Toro, Steven Soderbergh, Robert Zemeckis, Quentin Tarantino, and George Lucas.

I was surprised to learn that Spielberg had a bit of PTSD from the experience that lasted quite awhile, mostly from the expanding budget, delays, mechanical shark mishaps, along with career and studio pressure.

Very nicely put together by director Laurent Bouzereau. Available on various streaming services like National Geographic, Hulu, Disney+, etc.

Doc's rating: 8/10
